Fall Festival Pre-Sale Tickets 10/17 & Festival 10/18

Fall Festival Happenings 

 

Fall Festival is this Friday 10/18 from 

4:30pm-7:30pm on the blacktop

 

Volunteer assignments for all that filled out 

the blue volunteer forms will be coming home 

by Thursday 10/17

 

Pre-sale tickets should come home with your child by Thursday 10/17

 

We will be holding a last chance pre sale for 

game tickets, raffle tickets, and TK meals 

on Thursday on 10/17 from 11:50-2:30 in 

the gallery at  the raffle preview 

 

All game booths will be 2 tickets per game

 

Get a head start put your name and phone number on the back of all your red raffle tickets!

Fall Festival Needs Donations

Fall Festival is in need of donations:

  • Soda
  • Single-Serving Chips
  • Regular-sized Suckers
  • Halloween Candy
  • Baked Goods

 

We will have labeled donation bins at the kindergarten entrance, side parking lot by poles and front office.  Donations will be accepted starting this week. 

You may also bring baked goods that evening and drop them at the Bake Walk table.

Box Tops Due Friday, Oct. 4th

It's Box Tops and Labels for Education collection time!

Collect as many Box Tops and Labels as you can from family, friends, and neighbors.  Submit them to your teacher no later than Friday October 4th. You will be entered for raffle prizes like dinner at some great local restaurants, Moffett Mustang themed items, toys, tickets to Pump It Up, K-1 Speed, Boomers and more.

Send in your clipped Box Tops and Labels in a plastic bag  or envelope with your child's name,  teacher and room # on it. 

Every 10 Box Tops = 1 raffle ticket

Every 20 Label points = 1 raffle ticket

**1extra raffle ticket for neatly trimmed entries**

NO raffle tickets for expired Box Tops or missing Label UPC

  

All entries must be received by 3:00pm Friday October 4th to be considered for this raffle.  Any entries after the deadline will be held over or our next raffle.

Moffett PTA will be collecting your gently used books in the front office to help support the Assistance League of Huntington Beach. Their organization generously donates to help fund many grants for our teachers and school. Please help us give back to them.
Notes:
  • All books of all reading and age levels are accepted.
  • The book donation bucket is in the front office .

Attendance Guidelines for Moffett

Attendance guidelines for the Moffett:
  • It is very important that absences are reported to the office!
  • It is preferred that absences are called in to the office on the day that they occur.
  • When reporting an absence, please include your child’s name, teacher, and the reason for the absence.
  • Absences due to illness that are 5 or more days will require a doctor’s note when the student returns.
  • Homework requests can be made on the attendance line or through an email. Requests should be received prior to your student’s scheduled lunch period in order to give the teacher adequate time to put the work together. K-2 (before 12:00) 3-5 (before 12:45).
  • Homework can be picked up between 2:30-4:00.
  • If your child misses school due to illness, they may return to school once they are symptom free (no fever, no vomiting) for 24 hours.

Best Food Forward - Volunteers Needed!

BEST FOOT FORWARD

WE NEED YOU!

Best Foot Forward is a fun, exciting, PTA sponsored
 Supplemental Reading Program
for students in Grades 1 through 5
 
Here’s how it works:
  • Students check out a book from BFF, read the book, and return to BFF the next day
  •  Helper do a short, low-key interview to evaluate their reading comprehension.  
  • Earn the students book credits, and prizes are awarded for every 10 book credits earned.
  • The program will begin on October 9 
            SHIFTS:
      • Morning Shifts (9:45-11:00) on Mon., Tues., Wed. and Fri.
      • Afternoon Shifts (12:15-2:00) on Mon. through Fri. 
      • Thursday’s Afternoon Shift: (11:30-1:00) for minimum day. 
In order to do this, we need LOTS of volunteers!  Pick a shift with a friend.  It’s fun, easy and no experience is required. 
 
Can’t volunteer on a weekly basis? 
  • You can split your shift with another volunteer. 
  • BE a substitute... who can occasionally fill in when a shift is short-handed. 
  • If you can’t work a shift, you can help out with clerical support.
If you would like to be a part of this program, please fill out the slip below and return it to school with your child as soon as possible, or call one of our BFF volunteer coordinators:

Parent / Teacher Luncheon Friday, Sept. 13th

You can sit down and talk with your child's teacher and enjoy delicious tacos from the taco bar!
 
You can help by donating a food item: salad, dessert, or by sending $5.00 contribution.  If you are donating an item, please bring your food and serving utensils to the gallery by 10:30am on Friday, September 13th. 
 
We look forward to seeing you at our Annual Fall Luncheon.
