Red Ribbon Week

October 23-27

This upcoming week, October 23-27, is Red Ribbon Week.  It is a nationally celebrated event that helps give communities an opportunity to bring awareness to parents and their children about the harmful effects of illegal drugs and usage.

Moffett will participate in this national event by inviting students to dress up for various themed activities throughout the week.  Students will be able to sign our pledge wall on Friday at lunch recess. They also have an opportunity to take pictures with their friends in our photo booth on Tuesday during lunch recess, along with some other fun group activities. These activities help to remind children why we have Red Ribbon Week, and why it is important, all while having fun with their fellow students.

Please also remember to do your part at home.  Take the time to sit down with your children to discuss the dangers of illegal drug use.  For younger grades, it might be more age appropriate to discuss being in the presence of an adult when taking medications or vitamins.  Together, we can help our Moffett Mustangs live healthy lives and teach them that it's super important to be drug free!
