Track & Field

It's on the calendar again for June 18, 2018. Every grade spends the morning out on the grass spectating and participating in up to 6 different field events, dashes, softball throw, obstacle course, potato sack races, hula hoops, and tug-a-war for the upper grades. It's a great morning to enjoy the friendships made all year as the school year winds down.

This event completely relies on parent volunteers. We start at 7:30 in the morning to setup the field with EZ up canopies and necessary supplies for each event. Beginning at 8:30am, each grade starts at a different event and moves from event to event every half hour with their group of parent volunteers. Volunteers organize the participants, run the event for their grade, and mark down the top 3 finishers in each heat for ribbons. By 12:15pm, all students are at lunch or back in the classroom and our volunteers are cleaning up the fields and writing names on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place ribbons to be sent to each classroom.

Keep an eye out in early May for the Track & Field permission slip and volunteer form.
