Piet Mondrian K-2 Parent Lesson
Dutch artist Piet Mondrian created over 100 abstract compositions balancing the elements of art: line, geometric, shape, color, and space. His works were infused with a sense of movement and rhythm like the jazz music that inspired him. Scholars discover how Mondrian’s canvases of lines and space filled with squares and rectangles of primary colors have influenced everything from closet design to fashion. In turn, students will utilize his works as inspiration for their own paper collages for the classroom art activity.
