PTA Reflections 2026 - 2027

The Reflections Art Program is a National PTA event which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. It strives to increase awareness & the importance of arts in education. The contest is nationwide, beginning at the school level & winning artists can advance through to council, district, state & national levels. Children from kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate in the following areas:

  • Dance Choreography

  • Literature

  • Photography

  • Film Production

  • Music Composition

  • Visual Arts

  • Special Artist

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

  • Unleash creative talents and be inspired

  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork

  • Experience the fun and joy of making art

  • Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme

  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art

 This years theme is 'WHAT MY CULTURE MEANS TO ME. Some quick guidelines include:

  • Entries must be inspired by the current annual theme.

  • Entries must be new artwork, created for the Reflections program. 

  • Entries must be original artwork created by one student only. Only (1) student is awarded per entry.

  • Entries must include an original title and artist statement.

  • If you use technology or digital platforms to create an entry, you must include a brief description of how the tool(s) was used.
